Description by manufacturer:

The COSPAS function of the AR-DV10 in a few words:
  • On AR-DV10 receivers, the COSPAS function allows automatic reception of 121.5Mhz AM and 406Mhz COSPAS-SARSAT beacons. This novelty is aimed at all radio amateurs, members of civil security and personnel qualified in the field of SAR (Search and Rescue).
  • In addition to the native functions of the AR-DV10, when the option is activated, it is possible to participate in the search for aeronautical, maritime or individual beacons of the COSPAS network.
  • This innovative feature makes it possible to do away with the heavy and cumbersome carrying of a receiver dedicated to this activity, which would be associated with a "406 frame" decoding box. The AIO “All in One” capability (understanding All In One) of the AR-DV10 offers innovative flexibility of use in the field of operational action for users in the field.
  • How did you do without this option? 3 constraints were presented to adapt to 1 search: the receiver, the directional antenna and the frame decoder. That was without counting the wiring, and the efforts to monitor the receiver on the one hand and the decoder on the other.
  • Today the COSPAS function of the AR-DV10 changes the way of working and the receiver becomes autonomous to adapt to humans.
  • The operation of COSPAS mode allows the decoding of frames on all the UHF channels dedicated to this operating mode.
  • When the beacon is detected in UHF, it is possible to refine the location of the distress beacon thanks to the alternative or fixed listening of the VHF channel according to your work habits.
  • The position of the beacon in LAT and LON and its identity are displayed on the screen of the receiver for direct use.
  • Thanks to the DV10 Manager application, it is possible to automatically report the presumed position of the beacon on Google Earth or Google Maps in order to create an access route, reduce intervention and search times.
  • UHF / VHF switching when COSPAS mode is activated on the AR-DV10 receiver allows the user to continue searching for the VHF signal without any other manipulation in "Fox Huntig" mode.
